Waiting at the gate

If you've ever travelled with Aer Lingus from gate 335 at Dublin Airport, then its a little more exciting than nornmal.

Introdued in winter 2017, a new mini terminal was opened at Dublin known as the south gates.

If your assigned gate 335, this in actually a lounge on the ground floor. A shuttle bus operates from this lounge to the "south gates ", a remote mini terminal every few minutes on a continous loop for specific arriving & departing Aer Lingus flights.

Gates lettered A to E for 9 Aer Lingus stands over the early mornings, which is south of terminal 2, then late evening flights, comolete with a café, toilets, baby changing facilities and a workstation area with plugs and charging points.

In daylight hours, it can provide some nice ramp shots. There are no airbridges to the aircraft outside.

Seen above, in the very early hours, passengers silouette at the south gates.
