King size at Kingstown

The King at Kingstown, the Stena Carrier at Dun Laoighaire port in April 2018 while the crew were on shore leave.

In the news this week was its sister ship the Stena Freighter which sadly is heading to the scrapyard.

The Stena Freighter had spent the last three years Port of Pensacola, Florida, US being converted to a landing platform ship ( LPV ) for Blue Origin's new Glenn rocket, 125 and 150 workers were employed at the height of the project for Offshore Inland at the port

Jeff Bezos visited Pensacola in December 2020 to rename the ship Jacklyn, after his mother, who christened her personally.

Blue Origin stopped works on Jacklyn in 2022, deciding to abandon the plan to use the ship as a landing platform completely, so it was towed by tug Julie F to Brownsville, Texas for scrapping arrived there 19th August 2022.
