Frogmouths of Thattekkad

by sumeet.moghe

While my Thattekkad trip was a total washout from a photography standpoint, it was great for birding and afforded some tremendous sightings.

My favourite moments were the two separate sightings of Sri Lankan Frogmouths. These birds are truly difficult to spot and are a study in excellent camouflage. Regardless of the weather they are tough to photograph because of their habitat. Dark corners of the forest mean you have little light to work with and you're forever playing with high ISO. Anyways, the frogmouths are so high on my list, that they deserve a set of their own. Here's a selection of frogmouth photos from Thattekkad that you may like.
