New Boston ox cart

I don't know if I've heard the term somewhere, or if I've made it up...but this is the 'bullier' working with his oxen. they've been working all day, and ti's time for their break. He's unhooking them from the traces, so they can have food, water and a rest. The first pair did as they were told, but the second set had a mind of their own. They took off in the wrong direction, and the bullier had to give them a piece of his mind. I heard him tell them: "You think you're bigger than me, but I can tell you, I'm the boss here!!!" So funny. He grabbed the offending bull by the nose ring and dragged them to where they were supposed to be. I wish teenagers had nose rings.....

The Faire at New Boston happens every Labor Day. It's one of the best things that happens here. First class historical re-enactment, with all the costumes and bits and pieces judged for authenticity. The volunteers are religious about assuming a character and really act like they're aback in those times. It's like walking into a painting . Magical.
