Female farmers eager for training in Bangladesh
Female farmers attend an extension session in Bangladesh. Their village of Baikunthapur, Chirirbandar, is typical of the places where CIMMYT is having an impact in improving the livelihoods of small farmers. In such rural areas, extension services are one of the few resources that farmers working for a better life have access to. By collaborating with national partners in Bangladesh to provide training sessions like these, CIMMYT is able to take the benefits of its research directly to farmers, facilitating access to and adoption of improved seed, technologies and practices that can ultimately offer farmers better livelihoods.
