Students learn about maize breeding during CIMMYT open house

On 11 September 2009, 200 Mexican students from universities across the country visited CIMMYT's headquarters at El Batán, Mexico, where they toured the facilities while learning about the center’s mission and work. The open house is an annual event, which aims to encourage students already interested in agricultural development and to inspire those who are unsure of their future careers.
