Bacterial leaf stripe on wheat
Wheat leaf showing early symptoms of bacterial leaf stripe. Narrow chlorotic lesions or stripes with a watersoaked appearance occur primarily on the leaves and/or leaf sheaths. The disease is caused by Xanthomonas translucens. Wheat is mainly affected by the pathovar X. translucens pv. undulosa, and occasionally by X. translucens pv. cerealis. The same pathogen also causes black chaff.
