Youth group form mechanized service providing business in rural Zimbabwe

After receiving training from CIMMYT, this group of young men started a small business offering mechanized agricultural services to smallholder farmers near their town in rural Zimbabwe. The five young men are among the increasing number of youth across eastern and southern Africa creating a stable living as entrepreneurs in agricultural mechanization service provision. The group of young entrepreneurs is serving almost 150 family farms. Since they started their business three years ago, word has spread and now they are struggling to keep up with demand. They offer services such as shelling and planting, powered by special machinery.
