Minning Low Hill

Today we walked along the High Peak Trail and then to the top of this hill called Minning Low, to investigate the Neolithic chambered tomb and two Bronze Age bowl barrows. Never been up there before, and the route is from our new walking book 'Walks around the High Peak Trail'.

You enter the circle of beech trees through a gate and you can walk across the burial mounds with their large stones. We always seem to feel an atmosphere and stillness around ancient sights. When you think that people were buried here over 4,000 years ago it makes you feel quite honoured to be able to step back so far in time. It is a very beautiful and peaceful location.
