in a galaxy far, far away...

The Andromeda Galaxy (m31) imaged with a canon 7D through a 100-400mm lens at 400mm piggybacked on a 8" Meade LX200, guided with an orion autoguider with phd. This galaxy is 2.5 million light years away and is very similar to our own. Perhaps someone is looking back..

 

40 images each at 3mins for 2 hours total exposure (plus an hour of dark frames)

 

Still work in progress as I learn to process astro.
