Why I don't like Last.fm events

I don't like the event integration into last.fm. There's a really simple reason - how do I add an event? I clicked on the link in the navigation to be brought here: the events page. Nowhere does it say "add an event."

 

Where's the user contribution? To me this feels like it's I'm just supposed to consume the events, not share them with friends to see who's going.

 

Another difference, not visible here - upcoming let's you state "I'm attending" or "I'm watching" while last.fm only has "I'm attending."
