Driveway
Driveways come in different tastes and types and these reveal something of the chateau that is their destination. I have wandered for some time what kind of driveway leads to the Gaasbeek castle. While making this photo, I realized that this particular driveway is truly theatrical, each time revealing a new surprise around the corner. You feel drawn into this silent road by your own curiosity. This is consistent with the ambitious cultural and artistic management behind the castle. It was closed for repairs during three years but recently re-opened to offer new programs of expressive, inspired and theatrical art exhibitions. In this way, maintaining its successful approach, Gaasbeek chateau remains one of our region’s most valuable cultural assets for the years to come.
