The WAHR (Work At Height Regulations) and increasingly stringent Health & Safety standards, mean that choosing the right supplier for your powered access equipment is vital.

Whatever market sector you are working in, AFI can fulfil your requirements efficiently and cost effectively, whilst helping you to comply with current legislation.

We will lift the pressure from your shoulders and guide you to the most appropriate access solutions – so that you can meet your deadlines and your budget without compromise to quality and safety.
A testimony to their expertise is the speed with which they have grown. From only three depots with 270 machines in 2002, they have now expanded to 18 depots offering over 4,500 rental units! At the same time they have increased resources, which are paramount to provide solid support within the depot network. They have invested significantly in their delivery fleet, securing tight control of access to vehicles across their depot network.
Following the merger of AFI Aerial Platforms and Uplift in 2006, they cemented their position as one of the largest powered access companies in the industry. A £15 million injection from Barclays Private Equity, one of the UK’s leading providers of development capital, has given AFI-Uplift the financial strength to develop still further in the years to come. This investment is a tremendous vote of confidence in the AFI-Uplift team, which remains committed to providing individual service and support, ensuring customer demands are met on time, every time.
In the final quarter of 2007, they acquired two further businesses, North East Access and Central Access, enabling them to further develop their national depot network.
In 2008 they opened a depot in Preston and also relocated a number of depots to larger facilities. During that year AFI became the first powered access rental company to achieve Achilles BuildingConfidence accreditation.
In 2009 they made further investment in their fleet by purchasing a number of Pop-Ups and BoSS X3 machines for the smaller end of the market and two Hollandlift G-320 Megastars to serve the needs of the high end. They also gained two further accreditations – Safecontractor and TiVA supplier accreditation. They continued to invest in their systems and processes, for example introducing the digital pen system to their service engineers.
In 2010 AFI gained both the ISO 14001 environmental management standard and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety standard to add to their ISO 9001 standard. They opened their London City depot at Leyton, which is only 1.7 miles from the Olympic Park and serves Westfield Stratford City and the Olympic Park. They also launched a new web portal, AFI Aspect, which enables customers to view their contracts with AFI in real time.
