Fireweed and Fire-Sky

I was visiting Atlin in northern British Columbia on Labour Day this year (2022). It would not be an exaggeration to say that Atlin is my favourite place. I've been visiting this community since I was thirteen. Over the years, I have been privileged to see some gorgeous natural spectacles in the Atlin area. I remember camping on the same point where this photo was taken about fifteen years ago with my wife and children. On that trip, we witnessed the most spectacular sunset that I have ever seen anywhere. So, when the sun began to turn the sky red on this labour day weekend, I drove over to the same point that I had camped at so many years before. There I discovered this fireweed with a few flowers still in bloom. I didn't have a tripod with me, but I was still able to snap a few images of the red sky with the fireweed in the foreground. It was only a fraction of the display I remember during that long ago camping trip, but it was enough to bring back some good memories, and it was also beautiful in its own right.
