Alnwick Castle, Northumberland
The forecast for dawn was a heavy frost and so we headed to Alnwick Castle which sits above the River Aln and dates from the 11th century. The Castle has been used in many films famously taking the starring role of Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films. The first composition is just after the sun had climbed above the horizon and spread warming light across the castle. A slightly wider angle allowed me to include the frosted bank in the foreground.
