Small Heath

My attempts to photograph this species have been mostly unsuccessful.

Usually flushed from grassland, they dance away flashing their gorgeous pale orange wings, settle into another tussock and quickly close up, keeping their amber secret until disturbed again.

Lucky shot then :-)

I liked the diagonal symmetry of this, as the leaf imitates the triangular insect, but I wasn't fooled for a minute :-)
