Hello ladies!
Was lucky enough to see a flock of Bearded Tits / Reedlings this morning. From previous experience end of September / early October (on a sunny still day) is the best time to observe these beautiful birds flocking together in courtship behaviour. It coincides with their change of diet from insects to seeds.
This male is displaying his lovely wing feathers to impress the females, the 2 shots below shot the other stages - fluttering and puffing up (am sure there are more scientific descriptions available!). Not sure if she is impressed.
Taken at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, Norfolk.
