Adult Female Kingfisher

Taken last weekend. I did return to Lackford Lakes again this morning, but only had a brief site of one bird from Tower Hide (in the shade of course). Very poor this year, I think this is down to the birds nesting on another part of the reserve and tending to fish there. So affter a few hours I went for a walk round the rest of Lackford Lakes to try and find them - it is a lovely site. Ended up in the furthest hide and (as always happens) walked in to see a Kingfisher sat on a perch in perfect light about 20 feet away - didn't wait for me to get my camera set up of course. Didn't return but lots of other species, particularly Little and Great Crested Grebe.
