Barrier Tape
This photo is part of my ongoing incognito project.
A project about unrecognizability.
Commissioned by Stichitng NDSM-werf, with their work “Barrier Tape” SpY puts an everyday urban object – commonly used to direct people’s movement – in a different perspective and uses it to create a surprising work of art that invites visitors to interact with the installation. The emphasis is on the interaction between the work and the natural elements surrounding it.
The installation forms a vast, ever-changing surface in which visitors can circle in and around. Hanging from parallel strings and moved by the wind, the ribbons swing together as one, generating a majestic sea-like sound and creating a wave-like movement throughout the composition.
