ARR 4322 Portage 20 Jul 13
The Coastal Classic is on its way back north to Anchorage during another awesome summer evening in Portage. This train departed Anchorage at 0645L, arriving in Seward at 1105L to spend the day there before departing back north at 1800L.
If you read the description of my previous photo of this train (www.flickr.com/photos/8788895@N05/9426628678/), you'll know that this is the second shot of a choreographed paparazzi-like clown show done railfan-style! With such magnificent scenery that is depicted so dramatically different depending on focal length, I'm apt to shoot with both cameras when feasible. So even though I may be standing in the exact same spot and shooting the same train, the resulting photos depict two different scenes.
