BNSF 1933 Colorado Springs 25 May 10
BNSF 1933 is idling by the former Denver & Rio Grande Western depot in downtown Colorado Springs for some reason.
This unit was obviously part of the Pikes Peak Local at some point, but it was sitting here this particular morning, a place the BNSF Local's power rarely was ever parked during this time frame.
Yes, I know the angle is weird here, but I didn't have much room to work with to get the entire locomotive in the shot. Even a decade ago, if there was a SD40-2 around, I was shooting the thing!
BNSF 1933 has stayed around the area and I caught it numerous times on the PPL out of Denver in the recent past. As of early 2021, it's made the journey south and has been seen on the replacement PPL 2.
