BNSF 1933 Palmer Lake 16 Dec 19

40-plus years after rolling out of the paint shop in Cascade Green, a pair of former Burlington Northern SD40-2s lead the Pikes Peak Local south through Palmer Lake, CO.

The structure in the background behind the CN boxcar is the main span of the pedestrian bridge that will hang over the tracks and finally put a stop to people illegally crossing the tracks*.

*Yeah, right! The concern is that in order to force people to use the pedestrian overpass, the railroad/town will fence in the tracks, thus potentially ruining shots like this.
