BNSF 1444 Greenland 5 Sep 16
BNSF 1444 leads the Pikes Peak Local through Greenland, CO on a gorgeous Labor Day.
Boy, 8 years is a long time when you stop and look back and that's how long it had been between shooting ex-BN SD60Ms for me. This guy, as it stands as of this writing, was the first dual-window SD60M I ever caught on the point and now it's the last. When I caught this particular unit before, it was BNSF 9267 and it was leading the charge on an eastbound coal train in Dilworth, MN in December of 2005. 11 years later and a few more miles and a pair of road number changes, it looks pretty much the same...except for that yellow reflective material on the anti-climber. Regardless, this will most likely turn out to the be Catch of the Year for me as these green ex-BN beauts are my personal favorite in the wide-cab era of railroading! Glad BNSF left the BN nose herald alone on these guys (unlike the SD70MACs)!
