BNSF 3005 Larkspur 15 Feb 10
BNSF 3005 leads a beautiful Bluebonnet SD40-2 and the Pikes Peak Local over the old Santa Fe bridge in Larkspur, CO.
This particular day was definitely a highlight. The Pikes Peak Local was the 5th southbound I caught that morning, a number then that was reasonable but today is just a dream with the downturn in traffic.
I was camped out at this spot in a lawn chair waiting for this guy to make his appearance, wishing that the Bluebonnet was up front, but still happy to catch mainline standard cab action. Unfortunately the trees in the foreground here have grown in the past six years making this angle a little less appealing.
