Cracks in roof waterproofing paint

I originally painted the crazed and cracked surfaces of the original old waterproof covering with something from B&Q advertised as being good for that purpose. It stopped the leaks for some years. Then they started to reappear. I was advised by some roofers to use Flexacryl, more expensive, not so easy to get, but much better than what I'd used, would last twice as long.

 

I applied two coats. Within less than 18 months it had crazed and developed some large cracks, and was leaking. That was less time than the original cheaper paint.

 

I discovered that there are two kinds of Flexacryl, both the same price. The kind I'd used was the safe eco-friendly non-carcinogenic non-solvent domestic variety. The other kind, less easily obtained, was the old toxic trade formula version. I've applied two coats of that. We'll see how long it lasts...
