Fireworks at the fête nationale in Forcalquier

The fête nationale is celebrated on 14 July each year in France. It commemorates (amongst other things) the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; hence, in English speaking countries, it is often referred to simply as "Bastille Day".

 

This photo was taken looking towards Notre-Dame-du-Bourguet cathedral from which all of the fireworks were launched.
