This the hub Dreieck Funkturm. It was build in the beginnig of the sixties. Nowadays the bridges are going to collapse. In the Ringbahnbrücke is a big crack so the bridge has to be demolished to give a safe way for the public transport. The counterpart, the Westendbrücke in the north, will be demolished preemptive at the same time too.
They were designed for 20.000 cars – but there are about 200.000 now. The reconstuction of this hub came into mind in 2013 – but nothing was done until today. The bridges of the southbound lane (Halenseebrücke) is critical too as the payload is limited to 3.5 t (metric); unregarded heavier loads pass them. Total time until reconstruction: 2 years at least
