The mill photographs were taken from different positions as jaykay72. noted. The colour one (2 of 2) was taken around 12 minutes earlier than this one. The light changes rapidly as the sun goes down and I think the position of the sun allowed the b&w conversion to work quite well. I tried converting the coloured one taken from the other angle and it did not work as well. I think I too prefer this one.
