Rising Tide

Wittdün, Amrum, 2019.

Recently, I read that if both pole caps melted, the sea level would rise 67 meters. Think about it. How many billions of people would die or be forced to flee? How would that impact the landscapes of the world? So much suffering, so much beauty lost.

Even if the sea level rose only 5 meters, this would have devastating consequences for my favorite landscape, Frisian islands, and among them, my favorite place on the planet, the island of Amrum where I took this series of landscape photographs.

Enjoy!
