Meteorites

The traveling part of my meteorite collection, which forms the basis for my Meteorite Petting Zoo. I started the collection years ago, but only got the idea of taking it on the road in August of 2006 after attending a presentation by noted meteoriticist Dr. Mike Reynolds.

Before that I would take one or two large specimens and some small chips in blister packs (as giveways for "best question) to events at public schools. Since then, the collection has been visited (and petted, often hugged!) by more than 2,000 kids and their parents.

It has become a regular monthly feature of our local Texas Astronomical Society and Three Rivers Foundation for the Arts & Sciences public observing events.
