Finder chart to aid in locating Uranus, near Jupiter, on 1 Sept. 2010.

 

The labeled stars can be used as a star-hop.

 

Uranus, C, and D are about equidistant from Jupiter and nearly the same brightness (within half a magnitude). Of these, only Uranus will show a disc. To see the disc, use about 200X. It should appear bluish-green and distinctly round.
