19.45-Day Moon
A stack of 4 frames from a Pentax istDS digital SLR attached to the Stellarvue 152 APO (6" apochromatic refractor telescope) with a focal length of 1,200 mm. This was made about 9 a.m. UT on the morning of 10 December 2006. Post-processing was slight wavelet sharpening in Registax, cropping, and brightness levels adjustment.
Note based on Comments: Here's a link to a comparison slide that shows a Webcam mosaic with nearly the same resolution and lighting:
www.flickr.com/photos/chipdatajeffb/320987065/
Download it in Original size and double its size and you'll see the DSLR has the better exposure/dynamic range whereas the Webcam has the better detail.
Scope and mount supplied by 3RF (see www.3rf.org).
