Saturn (reduced)
Saturn through the 82-inch telescope. Best half of 51 frames from the Pentax istDS. Single alignment point in Registax 4, final image reduced 75 percent using Lanczos method. The visual image was very much better than this, with Encke's division readily apparent. Titan appears slightly orange visually through this scope. Incidentally, this is the very telescope that was used to spectroscopically confirm the fact that Titan has an atmosphere.
Since we had so many observers at the time, it wasn't "polite" to try to use a webcam or video camera at the scope (talk about "eyepiece hogging" !), so I restraind myself. Sometime, though ...
Exposure: Each frame 1/20th second, F 13.7
