Orion 632

Best viewed: LARGE.

A single Leonids-meteor-search frame from among more than 100 I made Nov. 17/18 from the lawn in front of the Otto Struve dome at McDonald Observatory. This is at an altitude of about 6,100 feet, with sub-arc-second "seeing" and not a cloud in sight. Moonrise was during morning astronomical twilight. I saw 10 - 12 bright bolides and about 20 dimmer Leonids during the time I spent outside the dome. Not ONE of them went through my field of view. Sigh.
