We-have-to-go-where?

My Dutch friend Alfred Elkerbout took this just after noon on Sunday as we prepared for our hike from the Hostel overlooking Chamonix over to the Pic du Midi tram station for the trip down the mountain. That's me with our weekend bags and down coat, surveying the route the glacier takes down the valley. The ice down there is about 40 feet thick at its deepest point.
