arrested development
When I first moved to Yantai 12 months ago in July 2006 this land was home to hundreds of families it had a strong community feel that cannot be replicated - it had nong tangs, (alley's) small stores and street vendors. This was razed to the ground to make way for a pure commercial "development". Across chinas many provinces people are being forcibly evicted from their homes to make way for so called "development" , usually the land is taken by the local authorities in a land speculation scam and then sold on to "developers" .
