Miyajima Shrine

Travel memories 116 of 365

This is the purple cast I was talking about yesterday. Some combination of being out of date and roasting in the back seat of a car in July turned everything on this roll of film to this lovely shade of purple. I didn't trust the film, so I took plenty of shots on good film too, but I quite like the purple here. Since the day was quite gray, I think it gives the photo some character.

Miyajima actually means "Shrine Island," the real name of the island is Itsukushima, but I've never heard anyone call it that.
