Galeton Lake in Potter County, Pennsylvania

Galeton Lake, seen on Sept. 29, is formed by a dam along Pine Creek in Galeton, Pa. The lake is a local icon, though the size of the lake and sediment have limited recreational activity behind the dam, which is in need of repairs. A grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission is allowing Galeton Development Corporation to study the structure of the dam as well as opportunities for future public access that would boost tourism in the area.
