Bowen's Branch in Anne Arundel County, Md.

An overflow drainage is seen along Bowen's Branch, a natural-looking restored stream at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Annapolis, Md., on June 5, 2019. After decades of being buried and piped directly to a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, the stream, which drains 28 acres of the surrounding neighborhood, was returned to natural functions in order to filter stormwater runoff and create habitat for wildlife. The $1.5 million dollar project was supported by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund. (Photo by Will Parson/Chesapeake Bay Program)
