SMdA2014-DayOfTheDead-Catrina01

San Miguel de Allende, Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos). A woman with dress and Catrina makeup seen in Jardine Square.

Catrina is one of the symbols of the Day of the Dead - a skeleton in fancy dress / clothes. We saw both adults and children made up as Catrinas for the festivities. Marigolds were also an important part of the costume as they represent the symbol of death. Double exposure.
