Maybe the ref was just really tired, but it was pretty disgusting the way he let Newcastle players get away with so much sly thuggery. Don't know who they felled in this shot but Jansson had already had to go off, injured. A friend sitting behind the dugout said the Newcastle assistant coach, Tindall, spent much of the match arm in arm with 4th official Martin, cosnstantly 'in his ear' and being allowed by Martin to wander way out iof his technical area. That smells bad. So with so much poor officiating how much can we trust the Premiership to ensure basic fairness? Will Martin and Kavanagh be demoted? Don't hold your breath.
