Mind the Gap

I found where the Ladybugs like to hang out in my backyard. They were all over this lime green, fern like plant I have in my yard. And they were all super busy doing whatever Ladybugs do in the morning.

While this image isn't in perfect focus, I enjoy it for other reasons: the action of this fearless little creature, the striking colors, and the softness of the bokeh. Not to mention the serendipity of it. This fearless bug didn't stop to consider the gap between the leaves. It just reach out and grabbed the next leaf and stepped across. If only we all could be so confident.

Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens plus a 5mm extension tube.
