58mmShootout - Konica Hexanon AR 57mm - Chuck & the Lines

Another set of images for the 58mm Shootout, this time three from the Konica Hexanon AR 57mm f1.4.

I really like this lens, to me, its special. This copy was rather beat up and not working well when I bought it. I love a good "project" to see if I can save something and return it to a working state. I was blessed in that the optics were in a near perfect state and so I didn't need to mess with them at all. And no oil on the blades, but the front filter ring was badly damaged as well as dents in the rear edge of the mount area and the focus ring was rather stiff.

In the end, I believe this was a success! Giving this wonderful lens a second chance to do what it was made to do was worth the effort! And it shows in the images it can create.

The colors of all my Konica Hexanon lenses are just wonderful to me. Rich and contrasty are two words I have heard over and over when describing these lenses. And this one is no different.

The bokeh of this lens can range from smooth to wild. I really like what it does.
