Loch Fleet, a tidal loch, is a National Nature Reserve, one of 50 throughout Scotland. It is an important feeding ground for many species of waders that can be seen on the mud flats throughout the year with numbers swelling in the winter months with many migrants which either pass through or over winter in the area.
