Glazed faience tile with palms

One of many decorated architectural tiles from el Amarna, this example shows two majestic doum palms and a series of unusual vertical leaves that have not been identified.

Amarna artists often tried to create interior spaces that looked and felt like the outdoors.

Polychrome faience

New Kingdom, late Dynasty 18, reign of Akhenaten (circa 1352-1336 B.C.E.)

Probably from el Amarna, Egypt
