昨天特展首日隆重開幕,邀請國寶級建築師李重耀現場解說重修總統府的歷程,八十多歲的李重耀回憶,「陳儀當時接收台灣後,原需四萬萬元經費只給三萬萬元,修不好就槍斃,經費不足加上物價波動,工程真的很難做。」
李重耀說,光是清理總統府的殘磚破瓦就需要一萬台牛車,八萬多個工人,因為經費不足,總統府原本有橢圓拱頂和精美的泥塑,修建後變成平頂,屋頂的通風孔、室內柱子的柱頭式樣也簡單
