Secretary Bird – Serengeti, Tanzania [DSC_5850]

The Secretary Bird, known for its long legs and distinctive head plumes, strides across the Serengeti plains hunting snakes and small prey. Its quill-like plumes, which inspired its name, aid in display, protection, and courtship. The bird in the photo appeared annoyed by a small bird nearby.
