Resawing found mahogany

During lockdown in London I decided to make a big footstool so I could lounge more comfortably while reading. Some time ago I'd found a big chunk of, probably Sapele, in a skip outside a shop renovation and decided to use that. I had to resaw the beam in my kitchen into more usable planks.

I clamped it to my kitchen bench and rip sawed for hours, and hours.

Read a fuller account of the making.
