Milky Way in the constellation Cygnus

Eight or so 15 second exposures and one 30 second exposure.

ISO 800.

This time with exposure adjusted in post processing to bring out some of the detail.

Its amazing how many stars are in this picture.

After some research, I've ascertained that this is an area of the Milky Way in the constellation Cygnus. This area of the Milky Way contains a few interesting objects. The brightest star located about in the middle of the picture is the star Deneb. Directly above Deneb is a nebula called the North America Nebula. "Mexico" points towards the lower left hand corner of the picture. In the large original version, there are a few whisps of nebulousity in the lower left hand corner (noted above), which may be some hints of the Veil nebula or may be just noise/artifacts/light pollution.

I think the brownish patch int he lower quarter of the picture is a cloud that was overhead while taking one or more of this exposures.

I haven't had a really dark night since I've gotten my new camera. I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend which is supposed to be dark and clear.
