Building a participatory Index Insurance scheme in Honduras
El Paraíso is a department of Honduras located in the dry corridor, heavily affected by drought. A project led by the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) of Columbia University, and supported by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is testing with local farmers the feasibility of an Index insurance scheme to help them deal with this problem.
